Spring Happenings In New Providence
New Providence has a very active and vibrant community, where family participation in activities is what makes the town akin to “Mayberry”. There are always fun family friendly events taking place, where everyone is invited to participate!
Recently the New Providence Lion’s Club hosted a 49th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Oakwood Park on Saturday March 31st. Open to all children till 2nd grade, it has become a fun annual tradition in New Providence that officially kicks off Spring. The Lion’s Club cooked and colored more than 4,000 eggs this year, and the celebration was complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny.
The next upcoming family friendly event in New Providence is the Clean up and Earth Fest on Saturday April 28th, organized by Girl Scout Troop 40140. It’s a town wide litter clean up for their Bronze Award Project. Families, companies, neighborhoods or individuals can sign up to clean up from 9am–12 noon. Afterwards there will be a Earth Fest celebration from 12noon-3pm, and will feature a recycled art contest, science exhibition, healthy food samples, and a story telling center for kids.
