Let's kick off May with some super fun events that will fill you with all of the vibes that spring brings! Here's the rundown for the Summit area and surrounding towns this week! 


Monday, 4/30: Are you interested in learning how to knit and crochet? - Then this is the perfect club meeting for you! At 7pm the New Providence Memorial Library is hosting an instructional knitting and crocheting club! The New Providence Memorial Library Library is located at 377 Elkwood Avenue in New Providence. Tuesday, 5/1: Reeves Reed Arboretum presents, “Shade Perennials for NJ Gardens.” At 7pm, you as a homeowner can learn about the challenges you may face while gardening, and how to create the nicest garden possible this season! Wednesday, 5/2: It’s carnival and fair season! New Providence is hosting “Our Lady of Peace Country Fair” from May 2nd through May 5th! From 6pm-11pm you can indulge in delicious food, go on fun rides, play games, enter contests, and more! This fair is located at 111 South Street. For more information, click here.

Thursday, 5/3: The DFSNNJ (Dress For Success Northern New Jersey) is hosting it’s 20th annual “EmpowHERing Lives Gala!” This event is from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, and is completely dedicated to empowering women that are in the workplace to have the confidence to achieve financial independence, and break the poverty cycle. Friday, 5/4: Interested in contributing to your community? Here’s your chance! The Grand Summit Hotel is hosting a fundraising event for the Summit Jr. Baseball & Softball teams! There will be an open bar (who doesn’t love that!?), live music, and scrumptious bites! This event will commence at 7:30pm and end at 11pm. Saturday, 5/5: Mondo of Summit is hosting “Filming O’Keeffe” at 8pm! This is a brief film filled with humor, history, and so much more - it was curated by high school students. Mondo is located at 426 Springfield Avenue. For more information, click here.

Sunday, 5/6: Between 3pm and 5pm, Lawton C. Johnson Middle School of Summit is hosting the “NJIO Spring Concert: The Spirit of 1850.” This is a wonderful opportunity to experience live string instruments, as well as the Flute Choir!
