Who doesn’t love a great brunch on the weekend!? Here are a few restaurants in Downtown Summit that offer brunch, and with the weather getter nicer, several even have outdoor seating!

Batavia Cafe: Remember when this fresh cafe started out as a furniture store in downtown Summit? They serve breakfast all day on Saturday and Sunday. Features include organic Greek omelets, avocado toast, huevas a la Mexicana, make your own breakfast bowl, etc. They have vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options as well. They also have some outdoor seating!

Committed Pig: Items like red velvet pancakes, and nutella stuffed French toast pop out from the menu. Is your mouth watering yet!? There are signature egg dishes like the croque madam, and avocado omelet. Who can beat the extensive list of pork roll sandwich options as well?  They also offer outdoor seating.

Hat Tavern: Located in the Grand Summit Hotel, their brunch is a buffet style with a few a la carte options. In addition to the traditional omelet station and other brunch fare, this has a house smoke salmon platter that is unique, and a has a raw bar station with shrimp, crab claw, and oysters. Hat Tavern offers a complimentary glass of champagne, bloody Mary, or mimosa!

Huntley Tavern: Extensive brunch menu, as usual, but some standouts are their breakfast burger, with their signature Huntley Tavern smoked bacon, sirloin steak, hash eggs, pepper and egg sandwich, and strawberry French toast! Sit out on the porch in the warmer weather for a really lovely brunch experience.

Peppercorn: A family owned Summit staple for over 30 years! This brick front diner, in the heart of downtown Summit has a regular following, and a friendly staff. Omelettes and pancakes are the most talked about, along with their coffee.

Piattino: Just steps away from the train station, this Summit newcomer has a very small brunch menu with items like early morning risotto, and two breakfast pizza options! They have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, and some outdoor and open air seating-which is great for people watching.

Summit House: This Summit newcomer’s brunch has an extensive raw bar for the seafood lover-with oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp, and a half lobster! Brioche French toast, baked eggs with red grits and shrimp, avocado toast with a sunny egg, and the option to add smoked salmon are just a few of the lovely items on the menu! They also have a charcuterie, and cheese selection. They also have a delicious selection of signature brunch cocktails.

Summit Diner: A Summit landmark and hometown treasure known for its famous Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich. Typical diner fare served with a side of friendship and its six booths, along with a “marble” counter. The Summit Diner is located right across from the train station in downtown Summit!

The Office: Items like tavern baked eggs, duck hash, the stack, French toast grilled cheese, and Benedict by the sea are just a few reasons to try out The Office’s brunch menu! I really want to try their “best brunch cocktail ever!”

Winberies: This recently remodeled Summit staple in the historic Opera House serves up a delicious Sunday brunch buffet! Start with a complimentary mimosa, bloody Mary, or screwdriver, and choose from a variety of entrees. Also includes a carving station, and waffle station. Outdoor seating complete the dining experience on a sunny day!
