Weekly Roundup! (5/21-5/27)
There have been a lot of exciting events happening (and of course more to come, as summer is approaching). This week there are a lot of relaxing and mindful events that are wonderful for all ages. Here's your weekly roundup!
Monday, 5/21: Start your Monday with mindfully. You can start the week with a yoga practice at 7:45am at The United Methodist Church of Summit. This session is located at 17 Kent Place Boulevard in Summit. For more information, click here.
Tuesday, 5/22: Have you tried barre yet!? (Not the bar where you can to with your friends during happy hour hahah). Barre is an intense and rejuvenating workout that has been super hot/trendy lately! Try out a class at Barre Intensity, located at 18 South Street on the 2nd floor in New Providence! There is a class from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and you will feel super strong and refreshed afterwards. Wednesday, 5/23: Experience a beautiful and interactive nature walk at Reeves Reed Arboretum. You can of course view the local beauty of nature in Summit, attend storytelling, make crafts, and so much more! This “Oaks and Acorns (Layers of the Forest)” class starts at 1pm, and is located at 165 Hobart Avenue in Summit. For more information, click here.
Thursday, 5/24: Did someone say mega sale!? The Junior League Thrift Shop is kicking off the summer by hosting the annual Beach Blast Event! From 9:30am to 8pm, all are invited to shop extremely priced reduced and gently used clothing, toys, and more! The Junior League Thrift Shop is located at 37 DeForest Avenue in Summit. Friday, 5/25: There's no better way to spend a Friday evening than musically expressing yourself with your community! Between 8pm and 11pm you can join the Summit community at an Open Mic Night, hosted by The United Methodist Church of Summit. Open Mic Night is located at 17 Kent Place Boulevard in Summit. Saturday, 5/26: Weekends don't have to always be a party - The New Providence Public Library is hosting a Memoir Writing Workshop from 2pm to 4pm. Sessions are completely free, and you just need to bring supplies you may need, and of course—your imagination. The New Providence Library is located at 377 Elkwood Avenue in New Providence. Sunday, 5/27: Have you been to the infamous Summit Summer Farmers Market yet? This local event is not one to miss! There are plenty of fresh and delicious foods from various local vendors that you have got to try. The Summit Summer Farmers market opens at 8am, and is located at 22 DeForest Avenue in Summit.
