Weekly Roundup! (5/7-5/13)

May is now in full force, and there are so many opportunities to get outdoors and learn about our surroundings! There are also a stream of education events, and fun indoor events as well. Here's the rundown for what's going on around town this week.


Monday, 5/7: The Forest Explorers welcome all to explore the outdoors of Millburn! Anyone and everyone of all ages are welcome, and the exploration and playing will begin at 3:30pm. This event is located at the South Mountain Reservation, and it is free to join! For more details on this event, click here.

Tuesday, 5/8: The Hilton Branch at the Maplewood Memorial Library is hosting “Create Space,” which is an awesome 3D printing event! Kids to teenagers between 5pm and 8pm can create amazing models, and learn about high tech software at no cost! This 3D printing event is located at 1688 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood. Wednesday, 5/9: Reeves Reed Arboretum welcomes adult age women to a coaching, and informational class guided by Master Coach, Deborah Munies! This class is called “Defining Success - Mind Over Matter,” and will take place at 7:30pm. For pricing and more information, click here.

Thursday, 5/10: The Chatham Playhouse presents, “Grease - The Musical” at 8pm. This classic musical is not one to miss! This event is located at 23 North Passaic Avenue in Chatham. For ticket pricing, and more information, click here.

Friday, 5/11: The Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting “Shop & Sip,” where you can gather up your gal pals, and shop a multitude of vendors, attend a wine bar, enter raffles, and more! This fun night starts at 7pm, and is located at 495 River Road in Chatham Township. For more information, click here.

Saturday, 5/12: From 9:30am-11am, Reeves Reed Arboretum is hosting “Let’s Get Growing for Kids: My Edible Garden.” This event is for children between the ages of 5 and 10, and will help you learn about creating a garden that is fresh to eat! For pricing and more information, click here.

Sunday, 5/13: The Summit Area YMCA is hosting their 17th annual Mother’s Day 5k Run/Walk! From 7:30am to 1pm, you can participate in a charitable event that will make you feel good emotionally, and physically!
