Fall Weekend Getaway: The Hamptons

Before Thanksgiving my best friend and I decided to leave for a little getaway, sometimes you just need a change of scenery.

The Hamptons was the perfect destination to disconnect and get some fresh air before the holiday. There’s something about beach towns in the winter that is just so beyond peaceful! We had such a fun time even though we were only there for a short while. Need some inspo for your own weekend getaway? Here’s our itinerary below.

DAY ONE:

9:00am - Hit the road!

12:00pm - Arrive in Southampton, and grab a coffee at The Golden Pear cafe

12:30pm - Peruse some books at Southampton Books, pop into some of the great shopping in town like Intermix, The Fudge Company, Breezin Up, Blue Mercury, and more!

1:30pm - Lunch at Sant Ambroeus: order the Melanzane alla Parmigiana to start, Spaghetti Strofinati Al Pesto e Pomodoro Piccante, then end your meal with the classic Sant Ambroeus cake and coffee!

3:00pm - If you’re into art, explore the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, or continue your shopping day in East Hampton!

4:30pm - Head to Wolffer Estate Vineyard for a wine tasting! We had so much fun sitting in the heated patio, watching the sunset while enjoying the wine flights and a cheese board. A great way to wind down and just enjoy the moment. You can also reserve other fun experiences like Taste of the Seasons, Vineyard Tours, Private Cellar Tastings, and more.

6:00pm - Time to check into your hotel! We stayed at Gurney’s Montauk and had the best time. We were upgraded to a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with a wrap around deck on the ocean. It really does not get better than that.

7:00pm - Once you settle in and bundle up for dinner, take the walkways to enjoy dinner or bites at the resort. Scarpetta was rented out the night we were there for a private event, so we enjoyed a FirePit on the Ocean. We had our own fire pit and heaters, fuzzy blankets, and enjoyed some drinks and food on the deck. It gets a little chilly but it was worth it!

9:00pm - We ended our evening early because we just wanted to relax and get a good night’s rest. We watched a movie back in the room and went to bed.

DAY TWO:

6:45am - Start the morning early! Make some coffee in the room, and get ready to watch the most beautiful sunrise.

7:00am - Bundle up on the deck and watch the sunrise. It is truly magical.

7:45am - Head to the main part of the resort and grab a coffee from OG Coffee & Juice in the lobby. They have so many fun drinks and pastries! Then head back to the deck and enjoy your drinks and crossword with a view.

9:00am - Enjoy your morning in a multitude of ways! Take a wellness class, walk on the beach, read a book, just take the time to really soak up the beauty of a slow morning.

11:00am - Check out of the hotel and head to the Montauk lighthouse. We had so much fun walking around and seeing the beautiful sights.

12:00pm - Grab lunch at one of the many great dining options in the area, or even try something in one of the other nearby towns to explore like Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, etc!

1:30pm - Stop in at Tates on your way home to pick up some goodies to take with you on the ride… and for the rest of the family if you are feeling extra nice!

2:00pm - Head back home feeling re-energized! You want to leave a little early to beat out all of the rush hour traffic.
